Community Buildings
We have successfully delivered a variety of different community buildings, many of which have had particular site constraints and challenges. Design solutions have provided cost effective, robust and functional buildings whilst ensuring a pleasurable experience for the users of each building through the use of interesting and innovative design features.
Existing building in South Coast town
This project, for a local charity serving the homeless community, comprised the extension, alteration and refurbishment of a large property that had previously been used as a residential home. The extended and enhanced accommodation comprises fourteen en-suite bedrooms together with communal areas to provide a valued facility to support homeless people. A second phase of work comprised the formation of a community hub with medical room, IT suite, meeting rooms and a large communal room.
Bognor Regis Bandstand
We prepared and submitted a planning and listed building application for appropriate and carefully considered conservation work to a Grade II listed bandstand in a prominent location on a seafront promenade on the South Coast. We subsequently acted as Contract Administrator which included specifying details of the work, obtaining tenders from contractors, monitoring work on site, agreeing all costs and closely liaising with the client throughout the construction process. The resultant work significantly enhanced and improved the appearance and also integrated substantial structural repairs and facilitated wheelchair access.
New cricket pavilion near Bognor Regis
We designed and arranged for the construction of a modestly proportioned new cricket pavilion. This was designed to be of very robust construction whilst also being functional and attractive. Facilities include changing rooms, WCs and a kitchen. The building was successfully completed and is now in regular use.
