Commercial Buildings

We recognize the importance of creating practical, functional, comfortable, efficient and inspiring workplaces whilst also minimizing cost and maximizing productivity for business occupiers. We work to create commercial spaces that meet current needs and regulations whilst also providing flexibility for the future.

New build café in Bognor Regis

Hotham park cafe 02.jpg

We worked closely with our clients, a local authority, to create a distinctive new café within a historic parkland setting. The new building was orientated to maximize views enjoyed by customers out towards the surrounding parkland, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The functional parts of the café were located to the rear of the building where they are not generally seen by the general public. The new facility has proven to be extremely popular and has been the recipient of design awards.

This project comprised one part of a multi-phased project and consisted of the demolition of a range of existing dilapidated buildings and the construction of a new two storey commercial building offering office and retail spaces of varying sizes suitable for different occupiers. The new building was orientated to form one side of a traditional farmyard courtyard and was designed to reflect the traditional agricultural aesthetics of a large cart shed with a granary above.

We prepared the design and submitted a planning application for the change of use of redundant stud buildings to form a range of business units of varying sizes suitable for start-up or step-up businesses. The proposals required a sensitive design approach whilst also providing facilities that are expected by occupiers of modern offices.

New build office building in rural location south of Guildford

East Shalford

We designed a new two storey office building and worked closely with planning consultants to help secure planning consent. The design was constrained by the height of an existing adjacent building and the general configuration of the site. Styling cues were taken from the adjacent building but the new building remains distinctive and individual.
