Residential Surveys
We only tend to carry out residential pre-acquisition surveys on particularly challenging, intricate or special properties, and often this is where clients require us to provide a comprehensive one-stop-shop service to cover further development work.
South Downs Farmhouse
An extensive Grade II listed farmhouse which had evolved and developed in a number of phases. The house has been hugely extended in the Edwardian era from the origins of a small original stone farmhouse. On closer inspection we discovered that the farmhouse had a beautiful oak crown post roof truss and the original substantial chimney breasts with bread-ovens.
Farmhouse near Petworth
Originally a stone farmhouse with a significant cellar, this historical property in the Surrey Hills had been substantially re-built and refurbished to create an Arts and Crafts style house and then extended significantly in the more recent past. We were instructed to carry out a pre-acquisition survey as part of a proposal by prospective purchasers to refurbish and extend the property to take better advantage of the spectacular location.
Former forge in South Downs National Park
This simple brick built building dates from the early 18th century and had been used as the village forge from then until the building was converted to residential accommodation in the 1960’s. We were instructed to investigate and report upon the condition of the building and to recommend works necessary to create a comfortable holiday home in this delightful location.
