Residential - New Builds

New build residential developments that we have designed range from single dwellings through to multiple unit development schemes. We approach each project on an individual, bespoke basis and take great care to design creative schemes that are of an appropriate bulk, scale and appearance to suit their setting.We also aim to fulfill, and indeed to exceed, the client’s aspirations. We have designed houses for self-builders, developers and contractors.

Our client owned a block of residential apartments in a built-up location close to a town centre, which had a large, under-utilised rear garden. In order to maximise the potential for this land we prepared a design for a detached three bedroom property in a traditional style, and obtained planning consent. The site is located within a Conservation Area, and an important element of the scheme was to retain strategic views of a nearby church spire. We obtained tenders for the work from building contractors and carried out full contract administrationof the work on site. The new property now forms part of our client’s property investment portfolio.

Our clients purchased a dilapidated bungalow in a village location with the vision to replace the property with a large detached family dwelling. We understood and interpreted their vision and designed a large, five bedroom family house in a style which fully complemented the village context, and which took into account the bulk and scale of adjacent properties together with the rural down land setting. The property included a basement housing a gym and utility room, and also a detached traditional garage building. We obtained planning consent and the development was then constructed by a specialist timber frame company.

The Ridings

The site at The Ridings comprised surplus garden land on an exclusive private residential estate on the South Coast. We designed a new, six bedroom detached house in a traditional style with a gross internal floor area of over 3,400 sq ft. We also prepared and submitted a planning application and successfully obtained planning consent. The project also included altering and remodelling an adjacent existing large residential dwelling.

We prepared design proposals for a contemporary new detached dwelling in a seafront location to replace a very modestly proportioned single storey dwelling. The design of the property is striking and distinctive and it will form a landmark property. We submitted a planning application and successfully obtained planning consent.

This property comprises a modest detached dwelling in a relatively isolated rural location. The property was in a very dilapidated condition which required significant upgrading. The decision was taken to replace the property with a new dwelling, and a contemporary design solution was adopted of an appropriate bulk and scale which would complement the wooded background and not dominate the landscape.
